Hey moms, dads, grandmas, grandpas, brothers, sisters, and curious internet browsers! James and I have decided to start a little blog, to let you know whats going on in our world. I figure this is a good time to start and a good habit to get into - as a parent, I'm always curious about what my kid got up to while I was away.

What did he eat? say? learn? create? discover? break?
How did he feel? behave? sleep? play? co-operate?

A blog is a good way to keep up in real-ish time and to share our latest goings on with all of you who may wish to follow. As of late, we're still setting up, moving around, adjusting our play space. The floor is mostly tiled, new shelves have been added, toys and bins have been sorted (and re-sorted) out, the easel, table, and other fixtures have arrived. We spend a lot of time listening and singing to music (good ol' Raffi :), playing the drums, jumping, making "mato" heads and coloring. The train table has officially becoming the everything table and a great place to drive all sorts of things. I'm glad to say its becoming a cozy space where James and I love to hang out, especially on the days that Matty joins us with his monster trucks.

So far the backyard is still pretty bland, so its a good thing the park is just a hop, skip and a jump away (or a short wagon ride). We've managed to kill some time with bubbles, soccer, "pass-a-me", sidewalk chalk, tonka trucks and the water toys. Bugs, birds, and neighbourhood creatures add to the excitement, too. Next step - sandbox!

Stay tuned for more exciting updates from inside the Turkey's Nest! Pictures will be coming, too!
