Mother nature has a funny way of planning your life for you. Just as I thought we'd figured things out at a comfortable pace, our family discovered that we're expecting our second baby. Wow, time flies. I can't believe how much all of my kiddos have grown and changed. Everyone is walking, talking, and asserting their independence! It's neat to watch how little groups form among them, how they interact, share, fight, negotiate things. Some days are great and some days are stressful, but all in all, this is where I want to be. I know that this year will be great!

Wow! September came out of the blue and I can't believe how well things have worked out. I officially opened my dayhome on September 1st and the little turkey's and I had a really great first couple of days. We've managed to merge the two potential schedule ideas that I had in mind to fit naps, meals, and outside time in at times that fit with what the kiddos need. I'm very sad to say that I've lost one of my little turkeys. I found out on July 1st that his mama no longer needs childcare for him and so now I'm getting back to all of the mom's who I had to say "maybe" or "no" to. I'm sure I'll fill up the spot before the fall but the worry-wart in me imagines the worst-case scenario. No matter what, I still 3 little bodies for September and another looking to start in February.

It's been a while since I've taken the time to sit down and update my little blog project. Things are busy at my house! I've managed to meet/interview three sets of parents and toddlers and am really excited to welcome Matthew, Reuben, Jacob and Makyn come September. It looks like we'll have a house full of boys! James and I are really looking forward to a few more playdates this summer so we can get to know everyone better :)

Wow - James' second birthday has come and gone in a whirlwind of family, presents, cake, mess, and noise. We celebrated quietly at home with spaghetti (one of Jammers favourite dinners - and a great way to get a ton of veggies into him :) and a gigantic ice cream cake.
